 Wildlife, such as birds, deer, elk and other animals depend
on food and water for their survival. The survival and reproduction
rates of animals is directly correlated to the amount of water in any given
area. Animals are more likely to be in areas that have received plenty
of rain for two important reasons; there is plenty of water to drink, and
there is more food to eat since edible vegetation is more plentiful in areas
with more rainfall. Countless scientific studies have shown that the
size of animal populations are directly correlated with previous levels of
precipitation. For example, areas that receive more than 10" of rain during the winter months in Arizona have significantly higher quail populations during the hunting season. |
